What is DCR or Dacryocystorhnostomy /DCT or Dacryocystorhnostomy ?

 A Dacrocysto-rhinostomy ( DCR) Surgery that creats  a new path for tears to drain between your eys and nose ,You may needs this surgery if your tear  duct has become blocked .

A Dacrocysto-rhinostomy ( DCT)  is a surgical procedure TO REMOVE the lacrimal sac .This sac is located at the junction of the tear the duct and the nose . The lacrimal sac stores tears that are produced by the larcimal gland .Tears Drain from the eye through the tear duct and in to the lacrimal sac .

What is nasolacrimal duct or tear duct ?

A tear duct is a small tube that drains tears from the eyes .Tears are made in glands under the eye livs .They wash over the eyes to keep them moist and clean or other hand you can say .

Tears are produce by the lacrimal gland located in the upper outer portion of each eye .THE usally   drain from the eye through small tuebes called tears duct or nasolacrimal duct ( NLD )that stretch from the eye in to the nose .

What are the symptoms of nasolacrimal duct blockage ?

Symptomes of the blocked tear duct include

    1. Excessive tearing

    1. Redness of the white part of the eye

    1. Recurrent eye infection or inflammation known as pink eye

    1. Painful swelling near the inside corner of the eye

    1. Crusting of the eyelids

    1. Mucus or pus discharge from the lids and surface of the eye

    1. Blurred vision

How to treat blocked nasolacrimal duct ?

The opthalmologis might advise having a procedure to try to dilate the nasolacrimal duct .If your symptoms are severe ,However  you may need a DCR ( PROCEDURE ) Mentioned above

What is the recovery of DCT or DCR ?

Yoy may resume exercise at 50 percent intensity after 1 week, and full intensity at 2 weeks
